As a Yorkshire woman I will of course be celebrating Yorkshire Day by donning my flat cap and taking my whippet out for a walk in the bleak countryside whilst looking forward to a Yorkshire Pudding and gravy upon my return.
In actual fact I’ll be doing none of those things because that’s a stereotype based on many assumptions.
The county of Yorkshire and its residents are so much more than that.
As the largest county in the UK you can imagine the rich variety it has to offer. From the stunning countryside, to cute fishing villages and vibrant cities, you could never get bored of Yorkshire.
Not many people outside of Yorkshire would appreciate that if it wasn’t for PR. It’s the same for any place, but imagine the damage a less than favourable stereotype can have on a specific industry that doesn’t PR itself.
Don’t let the stereotypes take hold; control the message through the use of PR.
PR is everything you do and say, everything that came before, and everything you do in the future. It’s important to look at PR in this way because PR is ultimately about your reputation.
