Let’s be positive it’s a new year!
What’s your PR strategy for the year ahead? Whatever it is, approach with positivity and integrate all of your marketing and PR efforts and ideas into one activity schedule of promotion and awareness raising to connect you to your audiences – It’s time to get noticed!
So let’s get started – you’ll need content; did I mention content marketing is really just another word for PR? With that in mind here are three resolutions to get you started:
- Get a plan together. Get a PR and content strategy together. Start with what it is you want to achieve. It could be reaching a new audience or keeping your existing audience engaged, either way it’ll be much easier for you to measure the results if you have a clear idea of your goal and which tools and techniques you’re going to use to get there.
- Produce higher quality content. There are many ways for your customers, stakeholders and employees to access information, learning, comparisons and possibilities; subsequently it’s up to you to capture your audience and divert them away from the many alternative options available to them. Rather than smoke screens, jargon and fluff develop content that is interesting and engaging.
- Keep the focus. With so many media channels available it would be easy to feel overwhelmed before you start. The key is to research where your audiences actually are. Do they spend most of their time on social media platforms such as; Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat? Or LinkedIn, Twitter? Maybe it’s the local newspaper or a specific trade magazine? Your reach could be broad or it could be limited, but one thing is clear you’ll never know until you research where they are.
So what’s stopping you? Embrace the positivity, develop a plan, get a PR strategy, be consistent and remember to evaluate the results for greater understanding and awareness between you and your audiences.
