During Care Home Open Week 27th June-3rd July, the social care sector is being encouraged to connect with people in the community.
Care homes are wonderful family communities where carers and those they support and care for form special relationships based on trust, mutual respect, compassion and empathy. During this week I want to share with you what that translates to.
Connecting with people outside of the care home, raising awareness, and sharing the true face of the care sector is what raises the awareness of what the care sector does but also creates positive reputations and opinions in thw wider world of a local community.
Why not share your activities in stories. You may have had a recent Mini Zoo visit. Think it isn’t news worthy? Think again, see here how we helped one care home secure coverage in their local newspaper. How about a poetry workshop? Read here how we helped one care home secure local newspaper newspaper coverage about their workshop led by a well known poet.
This isn’t just the true face of social care, it’s also the true face of PR, it’s about connecting and sharing a genuine human story to generate more understanding and awareness.
Celebrate social care and show how proud you are of care through your stories.
